QSC DCA Series Amplifiers

Crystal-clear, breathtaking, seat-shaking cinema sound is here with our DCA Series Digital Cinema Amplifiers. Five 2-channel and two 4-channel models offer power points from 200 to 1700 watts per channel in a two rack, 21 pound amplifier. With QSC's exclusive PowerLight® switching technology you'll hear ultra-powerful bass and superior highs in every scene.
With technology, DCA amplifiers take your soundtracks to a whole new level. Not only does it give your music bigger bass and cleaner highs, PowerLight also cuts wasted heat and boosts reliability. PowerLight is a switching power supply that provides ample current to the audio power circuitry by charging the supply rails 230,000 times a second through an ultra-low impedance circuit, so unlike high-powered amps with conventional supplies, the audio signal is never starved prematurely, but remains crisp and clean. It virtually eliminates hum and greatly reduces noise, providing a vast dynamic range that can handle the most demanding digital soundtracks without running out of headroom. DCA Series amps also boast a set of useful features such as individually selectable clip limiters and subsonic filters; and stereo, parallel, and bridged mono operation. Features Heavyweight Power Built To Last - Built on a rugged tour-grade chassis, DCA 2-channel and 4-channel amps deliver heavyweight power in a light 2RU package. All models are equipped with our innovative DataPort interface, which facilitates a fast hook-up, enables control and monitoring via QSC processors, and supports a range of useful accessories. All are safeguarded by protective circuitry that keeps them going strong over the long haul. DataPort Interface - Using a standard VGA-style connector that simplifies wiring and speeds up installation, the DCA DataPort interface provides single-cable integration with DCP, DXP, DCM and Q-SYS processors. Creating a smart, centrally controlled system that goes beyond simple audio connections, DataPort enables DSP crossovers, speaker-specific EQ, and monitoring and control of amplifier and loudspeaker functions. DataPort also accepts and powers analog accessory devices (XC-3, SF-3, and LF-3) that expand the capabilities of both DCA and ISA 2-channel amplifiers. A single QSC DataPort connection includes two channels of audio, output voltage monitoring (VMON), current monitoring (IMON), clip/protect monitoring, and thermal monitoring. DataPort also enables AC standby control and provides a 15 volt DC power supply for rear-panel accessories. Powerlight Switching Technology - With PowerLight technology, DCA amplifiers take your soundtracks to a whole new level. Not only does it give your music bigger bass and cleaner highs, PowerLight also cuts wasted heat and boosts reliability.
PowerLight is a switching power supply that provides ample current to the audio power circuitry by charging the supply rails 230,000 times a second through an ultra-low impedance circuit. This Ultra-fast charging of supply rails results in tighter bass and clean, transparent highs. So, unlike high-powered amps with conventional supplies, the audio signal is never starved prematurely, but remains crisp and clean. It virtually eliminates hum and greatly reduces noise, providing a vast dynamic range that can handle the most demanding digital soundtracks without running out of headroom.
Useful Features - DCA Series amps also boast a set of useful features such as Individually selectable clip limiters and subsonic filters, Stereo, parallel, and bridged mono operation, Extensive protection circuitry guarding against failures such as DC, infrasonic, thermal overload, and short circuits, Active Inrush Limiting allowing the amps to be turned on and off safely without expensive AC power sequencers.
The DPA Series represents a revolutionary advancement in amplifier technology and innovation. Each model provides efficient, robust and extraordinarily high fidelity power to drive multiple channels and configurations of loudspeakers while simultaneously deploying sophisticated digital processing – all with optimal energy and rack space efficiency.
The DPA Series consists of three powerful, four-channel amplifiers, each with onboard DSP, and the capability to configure and combine channels in various ways to drive a wide range of loudspeaker systems. These amplifiers not only provide the power and processing to make your cinema sound system perform better, they offer outstanding efficiency ensuring that energy costs will be kept to a minimum over the life of the installation.
Features Flexible Amplifier Summing Technology (FAST) - FAST drives most any loudspeaker system or configuration by distributing total amplifier power across one, two, three or all four channels. Power Efficiency -
DPA Series amplifiers use QSC's next generation class-D power amp design in combination with a custom power stage utilizing a new output device. These purpose built MOSFET devices provide high voltage operation without needing a full bridge output and offer better audio quality and thermal performance due to co-location of the semiconductors.
DPA Series amplifiers benefit from the proven PowerLight power supply, made even better with Power Factor Correction (PFC) that aligns the current waveform with the AC mains voltage waveform. PFC enables DPA Series amps to draw current from the wall in a more efficient and controlled manner resulting in incredible power from a single standard AC breaker. The result is the highest efficiency, improved audio performance, and low heat dissipation.
All models incorporate several energy conservation and efficiency strategies. One such tool is the unique multi-stage sleep mode that saves energy when possible without sacrificing performance.
Simplicity & Control -
Preset Wizard simplifies amplifier setup, providing system design tools
and loudspeaker selection from a list of speakers.
The on-board processing is managed and stored as presets, with 20 factory presets (for the most common applications) that can be modified and stored in the 50 user presets.
With an intuitive front panel UI, including channel Select and Mute buttons, Input and Output LED Metering, 400x240 LCD, intuitive navigation buttons, LED power button and indicator, programming is a breeze.
The DPA amplifiers also offer GPIO for system supervision and the ability to utilize contact closures to set the amps into standby or recall specific presets.
Onboard System Processing -
A single DPA Series amplifier is more than just an amplifier. It is also a capable and sophisticated loudspeaker processor. Integration of DSP and amplification means that the processor knows exactly what the amplifier is doing, allowing the dynamics processing and protection circuitry to be far more accurate and effective. This synergistic approach employs both RMS and Peak Limiters that provide the amplifier and loudspeaker combination to produce more output without being pushed to distortion or destruction.
The full function onboard loudspeaker processing DSP offers four channels of crossover filters, parametric EQ, alignment delay and dynamics processing - eliminating the need for outboard loudspeaker processors. In short, the DPA Series amplifiers provide everything needed to optimize a cinema loudspeaker system.
Space Efficient - With multiple channels of amplification plus signal processing in just two rack spaces, the DPA series amplifiers replace equipment taking up as much as three times the space. Input/Output Connectors - Four input Euroblock connectors, and four Euroblock touch-proof speaker output connectors. ISA amplifiers are an ideal, cost-effective solution for fixed installation applications requiring low impedance or distributed loudspeakers. There are seven models in the line, four low impedance models (ISA 280, ISA 450, ISA 750, ISA 1350) rated down to 2-ohm loads and three "Ti" versions (ISA 300Ti, ISA 500Ti, ISA 800Ti) featuring isolated transformers for 25, 70 and 100 volt distributed audio systems. The DataPort V2 Lite connection facilitates the use of amplifier accessories (XC-3, LF-3 and SF-3.) providing economical crossover and subwoofer filtering solutions.
