Dolby 3D differs from other 3D cinema technologies and provides an experience completely faithful to what the movie's creators envisioned. Dolby 3D uses a unique full-spectrum color technology that provides extremely crisp, clear images. The Dolby 3D movie system has a rotating color filter wheel that
can insert automatically into a digital projector for 3D movies.
Alongside the projector, the Dolby Filter Controller automatically synchronizes the filter wheel with the 3D digital content as it's projected. The Dolby 3D image delivers full quality when projected onto a conventional matte white screen Cinetech Digital was the first integrator in Australia to install a dual stack active Dolby 3D system designed for large screens. The major benefit in using Dolby 3D is the fact the technology does not require a silver screen which greatly diminishes the standard 2D projection experience. Dolby 3D also uses re-usable low cost glasses which provides cost benefits over time for the exhibitor and patrons not to mention environmental benefits. When equiping Dolby 3D with a Barco projector, the filter and controller is factory fitted meaning no additional hardware boxes in the booth and reduced installation costs.
